Other sources of statistics
Other sources of statistics on higher education (HE) provision in the UK are summarised below.
The Statistical Directorate within the Welsh Government uses HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) data to publish a number of statistical releases and bulletins on post-16 education and training, to include HE provision in Wales.
More widely, they publish information about Wales, and promote its use in decision making within government and beyond. A wide range of topics is covered including demography, health, housing, education, training, agriculture, industry, the economy, local government, transport, the environment and the Welsh language.

The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) is the central source for the collection and dissemination of statistics about publically funded UK higher education.
HESA produces a number of publications each year on higher education students, qualifiers, destinations of leavers, staff and finance of higher education in the UK. Free online tables can also be found sumarising student information in the UK.
HESA data is also available to institutions via the Higher Education Information Database (heidi).
heidi is a web-based management information service that provides easy access to a rich source of information about higher education. Over one hundred and thirty five HE institutions currently subscribe to heidi.
