Policy areas
The funding which we issue to the providers of higher education in Wales each year is made available to us from the Welsh Assembly Government. One of our responsibilities, therefore, is to make sure that the funding is spent in accordance with the Assembly's priorities.
We respond to Welsh Assembly Government priorities through our corporate strategy and plan and through considering institutions' strategic plans. We also, though, develop specific policies in a range of areas and, through specific funding streams and other interventions, encourage the institutions to meet the Assembly's priorities in these areas.
As Welsh Assembly Government priorities develop, so the range of policy areas, and specific activities within them, change. You can see details of the current range of policy areas in the tabs at the top of this page.
