Dr Colin Wyatt
Appointment: 22 April 2015 to 21 April 2018
Dr Colin Wyatt is an independent consultant who focuses on knowledge exchange and technology transfer between universities and industry to help them build research and commercial collaborations.
Colin was previously Director of Business Development at Imperial College whose team identified, created and managed relationships with industry partners. He was also Director of Business Affairs at the Council for Industry and Higher Education, now the National Centre for Universities and Business.
Prior to Imperial, Colin worked in Life Sciences for over 25 years. He was a Vice President at Cambridge Pharma Consultancy and held senior roles in Ernst & Young, IBM, PA Consulting, ICL and Eli Lilly. He was initially a Research Fellow at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.
Colin has a 2nd MB, BA and MA in Natural Sciences from Churchill College, Cambridge and a PhD in Medical Science from the University of London. He is a Fellow of Institute of Consulting and a Chartered Management Consultant. He has held Management Board roles for InnovationRCA and the TSB’s Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network. He was also a member of Imperial College’s Commercialisation Advisory Board, the IDEA League’s Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Group, the Russell Group’s Enterprise and Innovation Committee and the CBI’s London Council. He was Non-Executive Director of a medical image analysis company and Chair of Governors at a large secondary school.
