Dr David Blaney - Director of Strategic Development
David joined in 2005 as Head of Funding and Reconfiguration before being promoted to his current role in 2007. After completing his first degree in Business Studies, David lectured in information systems at Humberside and Wolverhampton, where he was then promoted to Principal Lecturer. Over 12 years at the now University of Wales Newport, David held roles including Head of Academic Development, Director of Quality and Assistant Principal (Academic), and played a substantial role in the federal University of Wales as a member of Court, Council, the Academic Board and a range of other committees. More recently, David gained a doctorate from Cardiff focusing on the management of higher education.
